Harold Gorman, 50, of 328 Pine Street died yesterday after a long illness. He had been a stward at the Providence B.P.O.E., for the past three years.
Born in Wigan, Lancaster, England, Aug. 19. 1901, he was a son of Annie (Pomfred[sp?) Gorman and the late Stephen Gorman.
Besides his mother, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Mary Gibbs of this city, a brother, Stephen Gorman of Providence, and two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Mallett of Providence and Mrs. Beatrice Ricci of Cenredale.
The funeral will take place Saturday at 10:45 a.m. from the J. F. Skeffington Chapel, 925 Chalkstone Avenue, with a requiem Mass in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Pomona Avenue at 11:30. Burial will be in North Burial Ground.

Mary Annie Gorman has been a storehouse of information for the Gorman/Pomfret side of the family. She has given me pictures of family members long gone. She is generous to a fault and has a detailed mind and an incisive memory.

Mary Annie Gorman met her first husband, Jennings Bryant ("John") Gibbs at McCarthy's Delicatessen on Washington Street in downtown Providence where she worked as a waitress during WWII.

She married her second husband, James Dwyer at the Church of the Epiphany in Providence and later had the marriage blessed in Saint Joseph Church, North Scituate, Rhode Island on May 22, 1981.

Mary Annie Gorman has been a care giver all her life.

James E. Dwyer

JOHNSTON - James E. "Skip" Dwyer, 87 of Valley Drive, foreman at the Municipal Police and Fire Garage, Providence, for 28 years before retiring in 1971, died yesterday at home. He was the husband of Mary A. (Gorman) Dwyer.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Thomas and Agnes (Hanley) Dwyer, he moved to Johnston 15 years ago.
Mr. Dwyer was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, and served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. After retiring, he worked part-time for Tilden Thurber, Providence, until 1985. For the past seven years he was a maintenance worker at St. Joseph's Church, Scituate.

Besides his wife he leaves two sons, James W., and Joseph T. Dwyer both of Warwick, and three sisters, Mae McAnany of Warwick, Rita McAnany of Providence, and Dottie Beagan of Warwick. He was brother of the late Joseph, Raymond, William, and Agnes Dwyer.

The Funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Winfield and Son's Funeral Home, Route 116, North Scituate Village, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Joseph Church, Danielson Pike Scituate. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
